Your flight or drive to Homer will be a thrilling introduction to the breathtaking scenery of south-central Alaska. You will see snow capped mountain peaks, lakes, glaciers, and volcanoes, and pass by fields and hillsides covered with vibrant wildflowers.
The Twin Creeks Trailhead Lodge (http://twincreekstrailhead.com) will be our home base for the workshop. This lodge is located in rolling hills near the town of Homer and overlooks Kachemak Bay and the surrounding wilderness. It is named for its close proximity to the Homestead Trail, which will be our main access for visiting a variety of wildflower habitats. Our classroom is a beautiful 700 square foot yurt located on the property.
The lodge offers very comfortable apartments and sleeping quarters, an outdoor hot tub, and fantastic views of the surrounding landscape. Delicious and sumptuous organic meals will be served family style. And, you will have plenty of time to hike and explore the surroundings after dinner as it won't get dark until after midnight!
If you are able to arrive a few days before the course, or can stay after, we encourage you to take advantage of one or more of the exciting activities available in this area:
